The topic will be weather forecasting and will be presented by Dale Harron, member of CFB Trenton Yacht Club.

Dale is a retired Civil Engineer and Military Engineer who has been fresh water sailing for the last 20 years.  An active participant in club race committees, he checks weather conditions using a variety of free web based tools and observations to assist in Club Race selection and as a participant.  He is currently the Handicapper at CFB Trenton Yacht Club.

His presentation is a discussion on the tools available to all boaters for quick assessment of current weather conditions and how they are expected to change over the near term.  This will include Environment Canada published Meteorological information, Web based tools for wind prediction, and a basic review of visual observations that can assist in assessing changes in weather and predicting the timing of those changes.  Local Topology thermal effects will also be discussed both with respect to how they can modify the predicted winds and how they change seasonally.  Offshore weather is not covered in this presentation.
